Jeffrey Allen Baxter

	Jeffrey Allen Baxter, 40, formerly of DuQuoin, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2000 at 2:30 a.m. at his home in Memphis, TN.
	Mr. Baxter was a laborer and a member of Church of God in  Christ in Memphis, TN.
	He was born September 22, 1959 at DuQuoin, the son of Louis Verneal and Jeannine P. (Simpson) Baxter.  He married Mia Futrell on September 22, 1993 at Champaign.
	Surviving are his wife, Mia Baxter of Memphis; his mother, Jeannine Baxter of DuQuoin; three sons, Jeffrey A. Baxter of Carbondale, Tyler Baxter of Carbondale and Justin Baxter of Memphis; one daughter, India P. Baxter of Memphis; two step-children, Emanuel Blair and Ashley Blair, both of Memphis; two brothers, Louis V. Baxter of Florida and Robert P. Baxter of Normal; five sisters, Phyllis R. Baxter of DuQuoin, Geraldine (Dennis) Johnson of Centralia, Kathy J. Baxter of Springfield, Connie J. Baxter of DuQuoin and Vicki R. Baxter of DuQuoin; maternal grandmother, Etta B. Gillespie of Matteson, godfather, Norbert Brown of DuQuoin and a host of family and friends.
	He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Baxter and maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. Robert T. Simpson.
	Funeral services were Thursday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leon Kelly officiating.  Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	Friends were able to call at Neal-McClure Funeral Home in DuQuoin on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until time of service.
